Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in West Hartford, Connecticut area. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial operations and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Prepare and process journal entries to ensure the accuracy of financial records. • Support the month-end closing process, including reconciliations and adjustments. • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements to meet reporting requirements. • Coordinate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and reports. • Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities to maintain smooth operations. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure transactions are accurately recorded. • Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect all financial activities. Requirements • BS in Accounting • Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation. • Hands-on experience with month-end closing procedures. • Familiarity with financial statement preparation and reporting. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively with auditors and other stakeholders. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Previous Public Accounting experience preferred.
