Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Denver, Colorado. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in accounts payable processes and a strong understanding of industry-specific systems. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and an opportunity to contribute to important financial operations within the energy sector.
Responsibilities:
• Process and verify invoices using a three-way match system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage accounts payable tasks, including data entry and reconciliation of vendor accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Utilize SAP software to streamline accounting processes and generate financial reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.
• Maintain organized documentation for audit purposes and regulatory compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reconciling accounts and preparing reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and three-way match.
• Proficiency in SAP software for accounting and financial reporting tasks.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with the energy or natural resources industry is a plus.
