Staff Accountant
Description Our client, a respected and growing organization, is seeking a talented and detail-driven Staff Accountant to join their finance team. As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with other team members to contribute to the overall financial health and efficiency of the organization. This position provides an excellent opportunity to hone your accounting skills and make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements. + Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. + Perform account reconciliations, including cash, receivables, and payables, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies. + Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts by analyzing financial data and providing insights. + Monitor transactions for compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. + Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors. + Process and analyze payroll, invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable as needed. + Stay current with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards (GAAP or IFRS). Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 2+ years of professional accounting experience; experience in public accounting is a plus. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) and strong Microsoft Excel skills. + Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices. + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + High attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + CPA certification (or progress toward certification) preferred but not required.
