Staff Accountant - Fairfax, VA

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Fairfax, VA in their search for a Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Fairfax County, VA.

The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to hit the ground running, and bring hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and track deferred revenue and ensure accurate recognition

Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis

Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data

Utilize Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online to support day-to-day accounting operations

Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities

Assist with preparing schedules and documentation for audits

Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation

Qualifications:

Experience with deferred revenue recognition and related accounting procedures is required

Bank reconciliation experience is essential

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Sage Intacct

Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced environment

Strong understanding of financial reporting and general ledger accounting

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA designation is a plus
