Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including month-end close, audit preparation, and reconciliations. Based in Houston, Texas, the position requires strong accounting expertise and proficiency in financial software tools. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting. • Prepare and organize audit-related documentation for internal and external audits. • Perform detailed account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and create complex reports. • Oversee payroll operations to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Work proficiently with Financial Edge Blackbaud software to manage financial records. • Collaborate with team members to maintain effective accounting practices. • Apply accounting principles to support fund accounting, especially within non-profit organizations. • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations. Requirements • Proven experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT or similar financial software. • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes. • Familiarity with financial audit activities and preparation. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas and data analysis. • Experience in payroll processing and management. • Background in fund accounting, preferably within the non-profit sector. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
