A small but rapidly growing construction firm in Encinitas, CA, is seeking an accurate and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. If you’re experienced in full-cycle accounting and want the opportunity to grow in your profession, this is the role for you! Key Responsibilities: As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. Your responsibilities include: + Executing full-cycle accounting duties, including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. + Reconciliating accounts and ensuring timely posting and adjustments. + Assisting in month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and year-end reporting. + Monitoring budgets and performing variance analysis to assist in managerial decision-making. + Supporting payroll preparation and maintaining records of employee expense reports. + Preparing and filing tax documents and assisting with audits as needed. + Working closely with the Controller and other team members on special projects. Requirements + 2–4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction or small business environments. + Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required. + Strong understanding of GAAP principles and standard accounting practices. + Outstanding attention to detail paired with excellent organizational skills. + A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. + Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and within a team.
