Description We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in St. Augustine, Florida on a Contract-to-permanent basis. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to the efficient operation of financial processes, including payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger management. Responsibilities: • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in adherence to organizational accounting standards. • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. • Perform month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. • Update and maintain the Chart of Accounts to align with company reporting needs. • Oversee payroll processing, including calculations for benefits deductions and compliance with relevant regulations. • Support the annual audit process by preparing required documentation for external auditors. • Monitor multi-company accounting transactions to ensure accuracy across all entities. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting tasks, providing detailed reports and analysis. • Utilize financial systems like NetSuite for tracking, reporting, and analysis. • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations. • Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing, including benefits deductions and 401(k) contributions. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite or Oracle. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies proactively. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
