Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in San Juan Capistrano, California for a Wholesale Distributer of Plumbing Supplies. This Contract position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to a dynamic accounting environment. The role is in-office and requires expertise in managing financial records and transactions with precision. Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Manage cash applications, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments. • Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to support accurate financial reporting. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, adhering to deadlines. • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Respond to inquiries from management and auditors regarding financial data. • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation for audit readiness. Requirements • Proven experience in bank reconciliations and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and cash application processes. • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with the General Ledger • Familiarity with accounting standards and principles. • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
