Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in financial operations who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will play a crucial role in managing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections. • Perform accurate bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and account balances. • Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions and ensuring proper classification. • Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting and compliance. • Assist in the month-end closing process, including generating reports and reconciling accounts. • Utilize QuickBooks to track and manage financial data efficiently. • Handle vendor management tasks, including communication and payment resolution. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Support audits and other financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and insights. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and handling month-end close procedures. • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks accounting software. • Familiarity with vendor management processes and best practices. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
