Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. This role is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering a chance to contribute to key financial operations and build a long-term career. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting organizational goals. Responsibilities: • Process customer credit applications with precision and ensure comprehensive record-keeping for credit accounts. • Prepare and analyze monthly Income Statements for assigned locations, identifying variances and monitoring key performance indicators. • Collaborate with location managers to review financial statements, offering support in understanding adjusted gross margin results and budget discrepancies. • Conduct thorough reviews of physical inventory valuation reports and maintain accurate documentation. • Assist in the development of annual forecasts and budgets for multiple locations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. • Contribute to the documentation and oversight of internal controls to maintain compliance and efficiency. • Manage and maintain the general ledger system, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial records. • Take responsibility for overseeing additional locations as they become operational, integrating their accounting functions smoothly. • Organize and store accounting documents securely, adhering to regulatory and organizational requirements. • Participate in special projects as assigned, contributing to broader organizational initiatives. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close procedures. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation. • Familiarity with financial software such as Oracle and QuickBooks. • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, including forecasting and budgeting. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing accounting records. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and location managers. • Capability to adapt to new responsibilities as the organization expands its operations.
