Staff Accountant
Description A client of ours in the aviation industry is looking to hire an Aircraft Maintenance and Inventory Accountant I, you will be responsible for assisting the aviation accounting and maintenance teams with a variety of day-to-day financial transactions including warranty reconciliation, maintenance invoice creation, third-party invoice analysis, expense allocation, and inventory tracking and reporting. This position ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to all aspects of the accounting function. Essential Responsibilities: + Prepare and issue maintenance invoices for in-house maintenance team services to support warranty claim submissions. + Submit warranty claims and oversee related accounts receivable. + Review internal maintenance work orders to ensure proper allocation of costs and labor hours. + Evaluate third-party maintenance invoices for accuracy and warranty applicability. + Coordinate with third-party vendors to recover warranty credits as needed. + Process parts credits and warranty claims from OEM invoices when applicable. + Track and verify warranty replacement and repaired parts in the accounting system. + Monitor inventory of warranty replacement items, addressing deficits caused by backorders. + Validate and confirm appropriate GL coding for all in-house and third-party maintenance invoices. + Record aircraft flight times and issue invoices related to engine programs (e.g., ESP). + Reconcile, monitor, and report on maintenance inventory and parts consumption. + Generate and present financial reports summarizing: + Maintenance expenditures (internal and third-party costs). + Utilization of manpower compared to allotted flat rates. + Inventory status and deficits due to warranty backorders. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: + Minimum of two years of experience in finance or accounting-related roles. + Background or familiarity with aviation maintenance is preferred. + Resourceful and results-oriented approach, with the ability to solve challenges and achieve objectives efficiently. + High ethical standards and a strong professional work ethic. + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. + Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in tasks.
