Description We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our property management client's dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of monthly reporting. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare timely, accurate monthly financial statements for multiple properties, ensuring adherence to internal policies and accounting standards. + Analyze general ledger activity to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement. + Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed. + Reconcile fixed assets in compliance with company capitalization and depreciation policies. + Leverage accounting systems effectively, offering insights to improve tools and workflows. + Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and financial review. + Collaborate cross-functionally to compile and review financial reports and analyses. + Contribute to the enhancement of accounting procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Strong experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management. • Ability to perform journal entries and oversee month-end close activities. • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while meeting deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration. • Previous experience in fixed asset management and financial statement preparation.
