Staff Accountant – Finance & Accounting Transformation

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building structure out of complexity, enjoys working with large volumes of accounting data, and can produce clear, well documented schedules that connect financial statements to the operational performance of the business. The right candidate will not only resolve current issues but also design processes and controls that improve accuracy and reduce errors going forward.   Key Responsibilities • Perform reconciliations and accounting cleanup where needed to ensure accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements. • Build and maintain supporting balance sheet schedules, ensuring completeness and alignment with GAAP requirements. • Design and implement processes that strengthen reporting discipline, improve efficiency, and mitigate future errors. • Conduct tests of balance sheet accounts and other analyses to validate account balances and strengthen financial controls. • Develop structured, concise reconciliation schedules and financial support packages to enhance finance transformation initiatives. • Bridge financial reporting and business operations by translating financial statements, including the income statement, into clear indicators of operational performance and forward-looking business health. • Partner with senior finance leadership to implement corrective entries when necessary and establish sustainable reporting practices. • Handle large data sets efficiently, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all reconciliations and schedules. • Collaborate with external advisors and auditors as needed, providing clear supporting documentation. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 3–5 years of accounting experience, with strong background in reconciliations, accounting cleanup, and financial reporting support. • Solid knowledge of GAAP and experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules. • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookup/index match and complex formulas for reconciliation and analysis. • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems; ability to extract and organize data efficiently. • Exceptional attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to problem solving. • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear, concise schedules and explanations. • Ability to link financial results to operational performance and provide insights into forward looking indicators of business health. • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and able to roll up your sleeves to get work done.   This is a hands on role where your ability to bring order to complexity will make an immediate impact. You will play a key role in strengthening our financial reporting processes, bridging financial results with operational performance, and building sustainable practices that drive finance transformation in partnership with senior leadership.
