Job Description

Senior technical staff member with a commercial focus on assigned market segments or disciplines, who serves as the primary technical link between top clients, sales teams, and internal staff to develop new proposals and resolve service issues.

• Collaborates with business leaders and commercial staff across the Eurofins network to develop programs and pricing schemes that meet client needs.

• Develops new business by building and maintaining successful relationships with assigned clients and partnering with Business Development Directors and Business Leaders across the Eurofins network.

• Manage all aspects of quote, proposal and RFI development for assigned opportunities; adhering to agreed-upon  business unit-specific and enterprise-wide proposal and pricing processes 

• Responsible for managing business opportunities of medium to high complexity autonomously

• Works with Business Leaders, Finance, Business Development Directors and others to compile proposal response

• Reviews proposal requests to ensure full understanding of client requirements

• Partners with internal stakeholders to develop creative solutions for inquiries from assigned clients

• Ensures timely delivery of assigned proposals to clients

• Uses all internal sales tools to create and track business opportunities (e.g. Sales Force.com, CRM)

• Responsible for client-facing and senior management-facing activities surrounding assigned opportunities

• Identifies and resolves issues around client inquiry requirements and Eurofins capabilities

• Maintains appropriate knowledge of  technical and regulatory environments pertaining  to role

• Responsible for executing or facilitating internal and external opportunity management negotiations (i.e. pricing, process, resources, etc.)

• Anticipates, detects, promotes quality and process improvement needs in the maintenance and continued development of key client relationships

• Promotes internal expertise through training and guidance to less experienced staff on interpretation of a RFP/quote/protocol 

• Performs quality control activities on client deliverables for peers and less experienced staff

• Coordinates internal resources to resolve client service issues

• May assist with  management activities  for assigned select large clients or complex accounts (e.g. regular KPI report outs to clients)

• Engages with industry trade groups (e.g. AOAC,USP,IFT, IAFP) as a participant, with focus on continued technical and leadership development and positive representation of the company

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. 

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. chemistry, microbiology)

 

* 6+ years of direct CRO business-related experience (food or dietary supplement industry preferred)

* Certified food scientist (CFS) preferred

• Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook) 

• Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact

• Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize

• Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently

• Knowledge of other software applications (i.e. SFDC) preferred

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Strong analytical problem solving skills

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with clients, sales & lab colleagues Eurofins senior management

• Positive attitude and sense of urgency

• Possesses a general knowledge of and ability to work across Eurofins BU lines preferred

• Ability to learn new tasks 

• Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
