**KOMAN Family of Companies** has a lucrative career opportunity for a seasoned Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) with construction and federal contracting experience to support our project at The Pentagon in Arlington, VA. **How We Value Our Team Members:** + Competitive Salary $75k-$110k + 401k with Company Match + Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits + Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP) + Short- and long-term disability + Health care and dependent care spending accounts + Paid Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays + Life insurance and more **What does the position do?** + Responsible for the daily enforcement of all established safety programs, regulations, and safe work practices. + Provide instructions to workers on safe work procedures, safety regulations, and emergency plans. + Provide support and administrative assistance on project specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP). + Investigate incidents promptly to identify underlying causes. Complete necessary documents and report to Safety Director. + Perform regular on-site hazard assessments to identify unsafe work practices and hazards. Provide recommendations to eliminate issues and ensure corrective action is taken. + Conduct routine equipment inspections. + Assist in performing compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and Safety Policy. + Ensure daily and weekly safety meetings are performed and documented for all site employees and subcontractors. + Provide weekly safety reports to the Safety Director. + Keep up with current knowledge of safety literature, regulations and codes or practice. + Performs other duties as are appropriate and as assigned. **What will top candidates bring to the table?** + 5 years of construction industry safety experience + 5 years of Federal Government Contracting experience with DoD, USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal agency is required. + Experience using RMS software is required. + At least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years. + Active 30-Hour OSHA is required. + Active EM385-1-1 is highly preferred. + Active CPR and First Aid is highly preferred. _KOMAN is anEqual opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities._ _As a Federal Contract Employer, KOMAN Families of Companies follows Federal Laws as it pertains to drug testing.
