Overview Our Senior Experience Designers craft digital experiences people love to use. They are masters of both architecture and design with a deep understanding of how end users interact with web and mobile experiences. Our experience runs the gamut from site to mobile, eCom to campaign, marketing to editorial to product, with one foot in beautiful visual expressions and the other in rock-solid user experience. At heart we are designers who love creating new, meaningful experiences and are well versed in the practice of modern digital experience creation. PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role based out of either our Chicago OR New York City office and will require onsite engagement an average of 3 days/week. Candidates local to those markets will be prioritized but highly qualified candidates in other markets may also be considered. Responsibilities Partner closely with other UX designers, visual designers, copywriters, design researchers, creative technologists, product owners, and developers to transform complex problems into elegant experiences and ensure that design intent is achieved Ideate, concept, develop, iterate, and evolve innovative digital experiences for a wide range of web, responsive web, and native mobile digital touchpoints within existing and newly created design systems Create UX artifacts including sketches, responsive wireframes, annotations, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, storyboards, sitemaps, user/screen flows, journey maps, personas, and interactive prototypes for use across devices with consideration for error states and edge cases Outline detailed flows for key tasks (e.g., registration, learning), scaled across multiple viewports Support the creation and execution of site maps, navigational patterns, and hierarchical content structures Participate in, document, and develop materials, templates, and guides for observational studies, interviews, workshops, usability testing, and other customer research to gain qualitative & quantitative data insights Translate insights and research into visualized user journeys across multiple touchpoints and synthesize those insights for use in journey maps, flows, and early design exploration Help implement taxonomy and labeling systems Participate in interviews and take detailed notes to capture qualitative input Research in/out of category experiences to apply relevant patterns and inspiration Document current and future state experiences Support and validate estimation of relevant deliverables based on project requirements, timelines and resources Define and execute competitive reviews, heuristic evaluations, and immersive activities Facilitate cross-disciplinary idea generation sessions and client reviews; communicate and present approach and rationale for concepts and designs to team members and directly to client Identify pain points, gaps, and opportunities to inform design decisions Qualifications 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably within an advertising agency, media organization, in-house agency, or consultancy Bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, industrial design, or a similar field preferred; experience may be substituted Prior experience working within or alongside the telecommunications, consumer electronics, or technology industries preferred Experience architecting and designing transactional, marketing, ecommerce experiences for web, responsive web, and native mobile Proficient at creating key XD artifacts within design thinking methodology including user flows, sketches, storyboards, personas, annotations, taxonomies, sitemaps, prototypes, journey maps, low- and high-fidelity wireframes and mockups, and similar deliverables Experience working within existing design systems as well as supporting the creation and evolution of new design systems Experience working within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team on customer-focused products and services Experience partnering directly with clients to confidently present work, articulate rationale for approach in the context of both business and user needs, and workshop and brainstorm iterative changes to ongoing projects Strong user experience fundamentals and a deep understanding of visual and UI design Experience working in an agile delivery environment Expert-level skills in specialized design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite A commitment to accessibility in experience design and an understanding of the application and integration of accessibility best practices A natural sense of urgency and an ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within tight deadlines and constantly-evolving project parameters, scope, and goals Flexible and adaptable with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects with constantly shifting parameters and targets Assertive, confident communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and take initiative Scrappy and entrepreneurial with a drive to evolve and innovate Highly collaborative but independently capable A portfolio of work showcasing innovative, beautiful experience design is required and should be submitted at the time of application; more sensitive work may be shared by PDF or via Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar repository rather than in a public portfolio Additional information The Power of One starts with our people! This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.
