Job Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled Sr. Technician IT Operations ​ to provide real-time support on the plant floor for all Manufacturing Execution System (MES)-related production issues. In this role, you will act as the first line of response to MES disruptions, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous production flow. You will also support SQL database management, build Power BI dashboards and Power Apps, and troubleshoot MES-to-SAP integration issues. The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and proven experience in a manufacturing or automotive production environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide real-time MES support for plant floor users, responding to production calls and system disruptions with urgency and accuracy.Troubleshoot MES-related issues across hardware (workstations, label printers, barcode scanners, HMIs) and software platforms.Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, perform queries, and investigate production data issues.Create and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights to production and management teams.Troubleshoot and support MES-SAP integrations (e.g., production order downloads, confirmations, inventory transactions).Collaborate with IT, production, engineering, and quality teams to deliver reliable system performance and continuous improvement.Document incidents, resolutions, and create support guides for recurring issues.Participate in MES enhancements, system upgrades, and testing cycles.Qualifications:•  Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).•  2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or automotive production environment supporting MES systems.•  Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and troubleshooting SQL queries and views.•  Experience with MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FTPC, Plex, GE Proficy, etc.).•  Hands-on experience building Power BI reports and Power Apps for plant floor usage.•  Familiarity with SAP (PP/MM) and MES-ERP data flows.•  Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to work calmly under pressure.•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred:Experience in automotive or high-volume discrete manufacturing.Working knowledge of SQL and MES-to-ERP integration concepts.Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, or automation environments.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and quality control systems.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
