The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for developing, editing, and managing a wide range of technical and business communication materials to support organizational operations, IT processes, and strategic initiatives. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation for diverse audiences, including technical staff, executives, and end users. The Senior Technical Writer ensures quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards across all deliverables. Responsibilities Research, plan, write, and edit technical and business materials including process documentation, user guides, manuals, reports, proposals, briefs, instructional materials, knowledge articles, presentations, and graphics. Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, analysts, developers, and business leaders to gather and verify technical information through interviews, observation, and review of existing resources. Translate technical and specialized language into accessible documentation that is clear, accurate, and tailored to the intended audience. Revise, standardize, and edit content created by other writers or technical staff to improve clarity, consistency, and usability. Recommend improvements in content structure, format, scope, and presentation to enhance readability and effectiveness. Create visual aids such as charts, diagrams, infographics, and slide presentations to complement and enhance written materials. Support proposal development efforts by reviewing, editing, and formatting compliant and persuasive content. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. 7+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on cybersecurity and cloud-based products/services. Background check required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skilled in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for technical and non-technical audiences. Strong ability to research, write, and edit technical and business documentation across areas such as IT processes, software, cybersecurity, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, AI/ML, and data systems. Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Confluence, JIRA, GitHub, and similar platforms. Ability to manage and work effectively within Agile environments, including Kanban workflows, to deliver documentation in alignment with iterative development cycles. Knowledge of compliance, security, and quality standards relevant to technical documentation and proposals. Ability to develop and integrate visuals, graphics, and presentations to support written content. Strong editing skills with the ability to review, revise, and standardize materials prepared by others. Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, analysts, and business leaders. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, ensure version control, and deliver high-quality documentation on schedule. Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise on documentation strategy and best practices.
