Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. Working in a collaborative production team environment, this role is responsible for expediting all aspects of technical design and drafting including direct support and staff oversight to meet all compliance and artistic requirements. This includes design/development for all phases of production for marquee event projects Essential Responsibilities: + Manage and provide direct oversight and support of Technical Design staff and over hire support. + Continued development and implementation of processes and improvements for technical design and drafting standards. + Collaborate with Technical Management and Art Department to strategize on approach of design and production at the beginning of each new job and provide consistency in design process and deliverables + Work with various project disciplines to integrate all show elements into technical design package typically including A/V, lighting, electrical, special effects, and associated facility impacts. + Produce and assemble accurate technical drawing packages to inform Architectural, Engineering and permit packages, rough and finish construction details, etc. for internal, and outsourcing to contractors/vendors. + Oversight of design development and build integration. This will include occasional in-field inspections to verify site conditions, and that build is meeting design requirements. + Review and redline technical drawings for client approval. + Coordinate design documentation from contractors/vendors with an emphasis on checking for compliance with contractual requirements and specifications. + Assist estimating and design where necessary. + Maintain revision and document control digitally and on site. + Coordinate close-out packages, maintenance manuals, as-builts, and revisions This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 + Minimum 7 years' work experience in a technical design/drafting capacity + Knowledge of various types of both general, and scenic construction and materials including Type V construction + Strong knowledge/experience with Auto CAD 2D, 3D, , Sketchup, REVIT and Microsoft Office + Strong leadership with ability to work well with limited information and constant change + Solid in-field installation experience in entertainment / theme park environment + Working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules. + Working knowledge of stage/entertainment practices, equipment and technologies. + Confidence to effectively communicate across all lines of business + Strong awareness of Environmental Safety standards, and ADA + Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required.
