Sr. Technical Advisor - Mechanical

Position Description Summary:

Under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of engineers. Provides technical & task direction over a group and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals. Plans, budgets, organizes, executes and controls an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program or an entire engineering program of moderate scope.  Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as assigned staff productivity, assigned initiative completions and control of associated budgets (time and/or monetary).  Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related, advancing experience.

Knowledgeable with analysis of mechanical/fluid/thermal systemsIn-depth understanding of machine design, application, maintenance, reliability & troubleshootingKnowledgeable with rotordynamic principles, application and analysisAbility to provide technical guidance and development plans for less experienced engineersKnowledgeable of current API standards for rotating equipment, particularly centrifugal pumps; hydraulic power recovery turbines; centrifugal, reciprocating and rotary compressors; steam and gas turbine drivers; electric motors, adjustable speed drives and associated auxiliary components and systemsWillingness to travel domestically or internationallyExcellent speaking and presentation skillsStrategic thinking coupled with action and follow through

Candidates must meet the following requirements and/or requisite experience:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Technology or equivalent Engineering fieldCertification as a Licensed Professional Engineer, or willingness to obtainExperience with chemical, petrochemical, refining, ammonia, methanol, nitric acid, ethylene, Hydrogen and oil & gas projects is preferredProject and Program ManagementEquipment Life-Cycle ManagementDirect experience with installation and commissioning of complex Machinery & SystemsEngineering, Specification, Requisitioning and Purchasing experience required.

Client RelationsScheduleCostContractsProject ManagementProprietary Equipment ProvisionIntellectual Property Protection

REQUIREMENTS:

BSc or MSc in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 10+ years CURRENT Applicable Experience

Special Requirements:

Must be willing and available for 25-50% domestic and international travelMeets the conditions mentioned in the Position Description & Summary sections above.
