Sr. Tax Analyst
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Analyst to join our team in Watsonville, California. In this role, you will oversee a variety of tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international regulations. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment and support critical treasury operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review book-to-tax adjustments for U.S. federal and state tax returns, as well as Canadian federal and provincial filings. • Maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules using specialized software and ensure accurate tax calculations. • Calculate and file estimated tax payments, extensions, and international disclosure forms, including forms 5471, 8858, and 5713. • Address tax agency notices promptly and manage an internal tracker for efficient resolution. • Support the preparation of annual property tax returns, sales and use tax filings, and Canadian tax returns. • Assist with transfer pricing documentation, including compiling Country-by-Country reports and other required documentation. • Implement and maintain global tax policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards. • Conduct risk monitoring projects such as nexus analysis, Secretary of State gap reviews, and Section 956 evaluations. • Provide administrative support by organizing tax records, submitting payment requests, and managing related correspondence. • Participate in nonrecurring projects and conduct in-depth research to address emerging tax issues. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax analysis and compliance within a corporate or manufacturing setting. • Strong knowledge of corporate treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and indirect tax processes. • Proficiency in handling sales tax, withholding tax filings, and international tax disclosures. • Familiarity with tax software and tools for fixed asset depreciation and general ledger reconciliations. • Experience with transfer pricing documentation and reporting requirements. • Excellent analytical skills to conduct risk assessments and evaluate compliance gaps. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
