Sr. Supervisor Revenue, Accounting

The Sr. Supervisor Revenue, Accounting is responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue recognition and revenue sharing agreements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606). This role manages a small team and ensures accurate and timely reporting of customer deposits and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial controls and revenue processes.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting and is based onsite out of our San Diego, CA office.  

As the Sr. Supervisor Revenue, Accounting you’ll be responsible for:

Revenue Recognition & Revenue Sharing

Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.Analyze and document revenue arrangements to determine appropriate recognition methods.Review and interpret revenue sharing agreements; ensure accurate calculation and timely distribution of shared revenues.Collaborate with legal and sales teams to review contract terms and assess accounting implications.

Customer Deposits & Accounts Receivable

Monitor and reconcile customer deposits to ensure proper application and reporting.Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and aging analysis.Work with internal teams and customers to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.

Reporting & Compliance

Prepare monthly revenue reports and monthly reconciliations.Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.Maintain and improve internal controls related to revenue and receivables.

Team Management

Supervise and mentor two accounting staff members.Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training and development.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

You have:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including revenue recognition.Experience managing or mentoring staff.Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 (Software Revenue Recognition Preferred).Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and Excel.Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $66,000.00 - $93,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
