Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Workforce Solutions - Hiring Software Delivery

The Scheduling, Evaluation, and Outcome (SEO) team is building the systems used by recruiters and interviewers to help Amazon scale its hiring processes by effectively embedding GenAI tools in interview evaluation process. We are currently looking for an experienced Sr Software Deve Engineer (SDE) to join my leadership team. The Evaluation and Outcome north star is to raise the bar with every hire and create the best experience for Interviewers and BarRaisers You will be a lead SDE for the large two-pizza team (~12 SDEs), define and evolve its practices, and own your team's product vision and roadmap. You'll ensure that the best engineering practices are followed and that our software is of the highest quality. You will be a key contributor in our product vision, partnering with product management teams to help define and develop a roadmap of customer-delighting features, and then delivering those features. You will work closely with other teams throughout HSD organization to design and architect solutions that will scale to millions of customers. Key job responsibilities - Define the system architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall experience - Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other SDE team members to help define the scope of the product - Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and software quality needs. - Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement - Design and define the interaction between the solution components and other systems where applicable. - Engineer highly scalable, cloud-native applications A day in the life As an SDE you'll spearhead Amazon's talent acquisition technology. You'll design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain innovative services that power our global recruiting efforts. Your role involves crafting architecture and product vision, debugging complex systems, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-performance software. You'll create scalable, flexible solutions with low latency and high throughput, directly impacting Amazon's ability to attract top talent worldwide. About the team Workforce Solutions (WS) empowers our customers by providing integrated, people-focused solutions that streamline hiring processes for WW Stores, AWS, Devices, and Talent Acquisition. Scheduling Evaluations Outcome (SEO) team is focused on building solutions that simplifies the scheduling, interviewing and debrief functionalities. This is a perfect problem statement to heavily adopt GenAI solutions to simplify Interview preparation, nature of questions relevant to interviews, and simplifying interview and bebrief notes. Use of AgenticAI to heavily simplify and automate the whole scheduling process. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
