Follows well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructionsMakes decisions and applies available resources to meet customer requirementsVerification, calibration, and use of common and specialized lab equipment including, but not limited to, floor mixer, pressurized vessels, peristaltic pump, floor scales, fume hoods, pH and conductivity metersPromote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within the functional area.Provide technical expertise and training to ULS staffWorks effectively with a diverse cross-functional teamPositively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific throughout customer locationsPrepare high quality specialized buffers/media in variety of different qualities and specifications. Perform tasks such as pH measurements, conductivity measurements, and sterile filtration techniquesAssemble/disassemble and operate media manufacturing equipment, filter housing assembliesMedia tote and bag installationsVerify calculations, technical documentation, equipment logbooks, and approval of completed documents.Scan batch records, archive documentsHow can one get here?
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate Degree in a scientific field preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, write and speak EnglishHave proven initiative in previous work experienceDisplays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo FisherExperience in laboratory setting or services preferred; experience in GLP/GMP environment preferredConfirmed excellence in customer service skillsDetail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environmentComputer/software skills. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Must possess the operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessaryWorking Conditions:Works primarily at customer locations, in laboratory environments, office environment, around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, and other storage locationsMay be required to work independently at customer locationExtensive walkingMay pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; ability to lift 50 lbsAbility to use material handling equipment such as push carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacksDepending on area of building, personal protective equipment is required to be worn including lab coats, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety glovesOne should be able to work a flexible shift to meet client and production needs which may include evenings, days, weekends, rotating shifts, etcEach one of our 75,000 outstanding minds has a distinct story to tell.
