Buyer Abuse Prevention, are seeking an experienced Threat Intelligence Security Engineer to partner with Amazon's Payment Risk threat intelligence team (VIPER) in identifying and disrupting sophisticated fraud syndicates. You will drive critical initiatives across upstream risk evaluation, bad actor network analysis, and coordinated abuse prevention to protect Amazon's global payment and marketplace ecosystem.

As the Threat Intelligence SecEng with VIPER you will lead the design and implementation of end-to-end fraud and abuse detection systems, architect security solutions, drive cross-functional initiatives, and establish frameworks that protect our customers while enabling business growth and maintaining customer experience.

Key job responsibilities
As a key member of VIPER, you will lead our north star goal in threat prevention and continuous risk evaluation, partnering with leadership to design and implement upstream risk evaluation strategies, including:
- Continuous evaluation systems for payment instruments and wallet additions
- Proactive/reactive risk assessments of businesses and stores
- Bad actor syndicate identification and disruption
- Dark web intelligence gathering and analysis
- Cross-functional initiatives to consolidate detection models and improve ML performance across identity and payment surfaces
- Design automated systems for ingesting and actioning identified risks from partner teams (SPI, Transaction Trust)
- Establish investigation workflows and evidence collection processes for law enforcement referrals
- Build privacy-preserving intelligence sharing mechanisms
- Drive proactive defense strategies based on emerging threat actor TTPs
- Architect security solutions that scale across Amazon's global marketplace
