Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine **We are searching for the best talent for a Sr. Scientist, In vivo Pharmacology Aging & Metabolism to be in Spring House, PA.** **Purpose:** The Senior Scientist plays a critical role in advancing strategic research initiatives focused on aging-related pathogenesis. This position integrates expertise in drug discovery, metabolic and inflammatory pathways, and translational research to address degenerative diseases, including cardiovascular conditions and sarcopenic obesity. Additionally, the role contributes to broader J&J therapeutic strategies across neuroscience, immunology, and oncology in support of age-related pathologies. **You will be responsible for:** • Conduct scientific and experimental research to investigate pathways implicated in age-related pathogenesis, including cardiovascular disease, thrombosis, sarcopenia, and energy balance regulation. • Design and execute preclinical studies, leveraging expertise in in vivo and ex-vivo animal models of cardiovascular disease, thrombosis, obesity, and sarcopenia. • Collaborate effectively within the internal cardiopulmonary team, including biologists, technical personnel, and clinicians, as well as cross-functional and external research partners. • Devote approximately 90% of time to laboratory-based research while ensuring seamless integration with broader strategic objectives. • Provide preclinical support for the regulatory filing of macitentan 75 in pulmonary arterial hypertension as needed. **Qualifications / Requirements:** **Education:** • Bachelor’s degree is required • Master’s degree or PhD is preferred **Required:** • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience working with preclinical models of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry • Strong communication skills • Excellent knowledge of standard office software (e.g., Outlook, MS office, etc.,) and other computer systems and technologies (e.g., Zoom/Teams, SharePoint, etc.,) • Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate in a global team environment • Ability and willingness to work in a global matrix environment with cross-functional, international teams • Ability to think dynamically, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities • Travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international), defined by business needs **Preferred:** • Large pharma in vivo pharmacology • Publications record in metabolic and CV indications Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
