Job Summary:
Newell Japan is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Sales rep to drive growth and performance in the Writing Instruments Division. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to develop and execute sales strategies, and the capability to create compelling business proposals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the market landscape, customer needs, and sales planning, with a proven track record of achieving business objectives.
Job Duties:
Sales Strategy & Planning Analyze current sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to develop data-driven sales strategies. Identify growth opportunities and create strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets. Develop and manage sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.Business Development & Client Management Strengthen relationships with key accounts, including retail partners and distributors, to maximize sales potential. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional plans with customers to drive business growth. Identify new business opportunities and channels to expand market presence. New Product Distribution: Create and manage distribution targets (quantity and store count), compile data, and review progress. New Product Launch Preparation: Coordinate launch timing and material preparation between the Marketing and Sales teams, including drafting customer letters. MD Activities: Oversee and track progress, including compiling data on fair events, setting sales targets, and aggregating results. Sales Performance Reporting: Organize and refine monthly sales data received from Finance team at the beginning of each month to improve clarity and usability.
Proposal & Presentation Development Create persuasive business proposals and sales presentations based on data insights and customer needs. Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, finance, SCS,OTC) to develop customer-focused solutions. Deliver high-impact presentations to stakeholders, demonstrating a clear vision for business expansion.
Execution & Performance Management Implement sales initiatives and track progress against KPIs, adjusting strategies as needed. Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth execution of sales and promotional activities. Provide regular reports and insights to leadership team on sales trends and opportunities.
Requirements:
Minimum 7+ years of sales experience in consumer goods, or luxury goods. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market conditions and sales data to drive strategic decisions. Proven experience in sales planning, proposal creation, and business strategy development. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and business partners. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) English (Biz level) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in e-commerce and omnichannel sales strategies. High-end or luxury product sales is preferred. Strong leadership, ownership are required.
