Sr. Risk / Compliance Manager, Flex, Flex SLS
At Amazon, we strive to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online.
At Amazon Logistics we are building a world class last mile operation, significantly complimented by Amazon Flex. Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more. The approach and technology are nothing short of disruptive, and promise to challenge traditional approaches, and change the way the industry operates.
Amazon Flex Service Level Standards (SLS) ensures that delivery partners provide high quality service to all Amazon Last Mile delivery businesses. Our vision is to ensure delivery partners are safe, reliable and provide great quality deliveries to our customers by measuring, promoting and rewarding the right driver behavior. Amazon is now looking to hire an experienced, passionate, dynamic, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and (most importantly), customer-obsessed Sr. Risk Manager to be a part of this team.
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Risk Manager to join the Flex SLS Compliance and Risk program team to identify and mitigate risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. This includes identifying high risk processes across SLS programs, developing monitoring and audit mechanisms to flag and address risk or identify process improvement opportunities. This team will own regular deep dive reviews of processes and potential failure points, including providing a summary of findings and tracking action plans. Internally, this leader will work with functions that cut across the organization, including technology, legal, science, operations and customer service, to drive a great customer experience for our program.
This leader will regularly interact with senior leadership, Flex stakeholders and across the Flex SLS team to drive change and influence prioritization throughout the business, while also identifying process improvement opportunities, driving compliance to processes and mechanisms that support scale. This includes identifying future initiatives that impact the SLS program and outlining risk mitigation strategies.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, highly analytical and detail-oriented, and be comfortable leading a team and working with multiple stakeholders to drive growth and change in a fast paced environment. A bias for action and deep diving details is an absolute must, and candidates must demonstrate a track record for building and leading teams, strategic thinking, and success in all phases of business and team development.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a Sr. Risk Manager to help build and scale the Flex SLS Compliance and Risk Program. As the Sr. Risk Manager your responsibilities will include:
• Help support a program vision and establish program priorities despite competing opportunities.
• Create metrics to define risk and measure compliance to processes.
• Challenge assumptions of why a process or service failed; ask the hard questions to get to the root cause of the problem.
• Build, perform and continuously improve compliance assessment and audit mechanisms.
• Identify trends and themes in the data to understand if larger issues need to be addressed; meet with team leaders to discuss the data and determine how to move forward with next steps.
• Establish strong working relationship with multiple teams across Amazon to proactively address compliance and risk related opportunities and drive resolution activities.
• Assist in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) and policies for SLS program processes and ensure policies and procedures are kept current.
• Identify root cause of process gap findings, improve control deficiencies and partner with cross functional teams to design control enhancements (through automation and/or improved processes).
• Think holistically and strategically to plan, organize, and drive complex and milestone driven projects to ensure end-to-end success for the user.
• Create, maintain, and disseminate program information confidently and on a regular basis to Amazon senior executives, senior leadership teams, and key stakeholders.
