Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our client in Portland, Oregon, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards, and collaborating across departments to streamline reporting and financial operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment while leveraging your technical expertise. Responsibilities: • Analyze complex software, service, and collaboration contracts to schedule revenue recognition in alignment with ASC 606 guidelines. • Evaluate and document revenue treatments, identifying non-standard contract terms that impact revenue. • Interpret legal contract language and produce technical accounting memos based on research and applicable standards. • Assess stand-alone selling prices, management judgments, and assumptions for accurate revenue recognition. • Conduct fluctuation analyses on revenue metrics to ensure consistency and accuracy. • Perform monthly and quarterly close procedures, ensuring all revenue-related accounts are reconciled. • Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and insights. • Support ad hoc financial analyses and participate in special projects as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • Minimum of three years of experience in revenue recognition, ideally within the software industry. • Proficiency in applying and documenting accounting principles, including ASC 606. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Hands-on experience with NetSuite required. • Ability to interpret and summarize legal language in contracts. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities. • Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external parties.
