The primary role of this individual is to work within the Production Quality Engineering Department to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of prevention-oriented quality and inspection systems that are responsive to customer needs, aligned to strategic vision, and adding value. The individual will be responsible for a production value stream and will collaborate with various production team members and plant leadership to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. This position requires a motivated, detail orientated, and well-organized individual with strong communication and teamwork skills.
+ Provide technical direction to manufacturing, production, and support staff and provide resolution of manufacturing difficulties.
+ Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities.
+ Foster a Zero Defects culture and facilitate Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) using 8-D format across all disciplines.
+ Determine customer quality requirements, including current AS standards, and analyze for compatibility with Parker Lord products and practices.
+ Support the Repair Station quality requirements with customers and third-party certification.
+ Maintain documentation of the quality system.
+ Support Supplier Quality to improve activities for external suppliers and certification efforts.
+ Participate in internal activities in support of major customer and third-party certification.
+ Lead and assist in quality audits to ensure internal compliance and coordinate customer/third party audits/inspection.
+ Interface directly with personnel at all levels, as well as customer and government representatives, to ensure all requirements and expectations are understood and satisfied.
+ Build solid relationships with Quality personnel from vendors and customers to assure contractual requirements are met.
+ Assist in quality related training of plant personnel and development of appropriate training materials.
Mandatory Requirements:
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the quality or manufacturing field.
+ A solid working knowledge of aerospace or industrial quality and inspection systems and have knowledge of quality engineering techniques with an emphasis on root cause analysis.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings.
+ Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including a high degree of comfort in presenting advanced quality concepts, plans, and technical data, to various audiences from shop floor personnel to management and customers.
+ Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., control charts, capability analysis, etc.) and problem-solving tools (pareto, C&E, RCCA)
+ Must work well in team-based environment as a leader, facilitator, and/or individual contributor.
+ Possess project management skills in relation to planning, managing, and closing projects.
+ Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
+ Knowledge of AS Standards.
+ Knowledge of FAA/EASA/CAAC requirements.
Non-Mandatory Requirements:
+ Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing Principles (Parker Lean System).
+ Certification as ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Engineer, and/or Auditor
+ FAA Repairman Certification
