Sr. Quality Engineer – Backshop

Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.** Job Summary The Sr. Quality Engineer – Backshop is responsible for leading the quality engineering team assigned to key manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, plastics, liquid painting, and electrostatic painting. The primary objective is to ensure product and process quality through robust controls, root cause analysis, KPI management, and continuous improvement. This role requires leadership skills, strategic thinking, and deep technical knowledge in manufacturing. Key Responsibilities · Lead and develop the quality engineering team in the Backshop area. · Ensure compliance with quality standards in welding, plastics, liquid painting, and electrostatic painting processes. · Establish and maintain inspection criteria, procedures, and quality standards. · Manage and analyze quality KPIs, proposing corrective and preventive actions. · Administer the Backshop quality budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. · Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. · Implement problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, etc.). · Collaborate with Engineering and Production for new product introductions and process improvements. · Utilize measurement and analysis software (CMM, SPC, Minitab, etc.) to ensure evaluation accuracy. · Promote continuous improvement initiatives and a quality culture in the area. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field. · Minimum 5 years of experience in quality within the manufacturing industry (preferably automotive or recreational vehicles). · Experience leading work teams. · Advanced knowledge in Backshop processes (welding, painting, plastics). · Proficiency in quality tools and problem-solving methodologies. · Experience in KPI and budget management. · Proficiency in measurement and statistical analysis software. · Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. _We are an ambitious, resourceful, and driven workforce, which empowers us to THINK OUTSIDE.
