Sr. Public Tax Manager - CPA Required
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Public Tax Manager to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients while providing expert tax consulting services. The role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual ready to take on leadership responsibilities within a collaborative and dynamic office environment. Responsibilities: • Lead tax preparation and planning for individual, corporate, and sales tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. • Provide strategic consulting services to clients, including hotels, real estate firms, and other large businesses. • Utilize tax software tools such as LaCerte, QuickBooks, and Excel to streamline processes and deliver high-quality results. • Collaborate with partners and accounting staff to manage client relationships and address complex tax issues. • Supervise and mentor entry-level team members, fostering growth and development. • Handle heavy workloads during tax season, including overtime hours, to meet critical deadlines. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide informed guidance to clients. • Prepare detailed reports and financial documents to support tax filings and audits. • Participate in office-wide initiatives, including Friday lunches and seasonal team events. • Ensure seamless transition of responsibilities from retiring team members, maintaining service quality for established clients. Requirements • Proven experience in individual, corporate, and sales tax preparation and consulting. • Strong proficiency with tax software such as LaCerte, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel functions. • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and collaborate with team members. • Ability to work extended hours during tax season, including 50-60 hours per week. • Solid understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards. • Leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced staff. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Familiarity with managing large client portfolios, including real estate and hospitality industries.
