Sr. Program Manager, Driver Training , OTR Programs
Description The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world class last mile operation. Amazon Logistics aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. The Delivery Service Partner (DSP) Driver Training program aims to prepare drivers to safely deliver packages to our customers with low cost and high quality. The Sr. Program Manager, Driver Training (Capacity and Readiness) is responsible for ensuring that the North America (NA) Driver Training program is always prepared to accommodate the needs of our partners, our customers, and our drivers. They must pro-actively identify and close future gaps, and when current gaps arise, work quickly to close those gaps. The AMZL Driver Training org is expanding to own Driver Training across multiple business lines. This role specifically would own the Capacity Strategies for the AMXL org to ensure there is strategic parity between what's currently done in AMZL and what will be done in AMXL to protect the High Volume Event (HVE) experience. Key job responsibilities - Possess a detailed understanding of processes, expectations, and training requirements for all drivers across the various driver programs in operation. - Work closely with customers to ensure that training programs lead to higher driver competence, safety, efficiency, and delivery quality. - Work closely with Global Road Safety, Fleet, Centralized Operations, Centralized Onboarding, Delivery Station, Ops Integration, Last-Mile Tech, Driver T&P Process Improvement team, On Road Staffing, AMXL PPT teams and Delivery Service Partners to ensure that training is aligned with workflows for drivers. - Coordinate with the Business Coach team to ensure corrective actions for common errors are incorporated into coaching programs. - Identify appropriate metrics and build friction-free reporting mechanisms to ensure that relevant teams have visibility to Driver Training capacity and readiness (incl. classrooms, closed courses, training vehicles, and inventory) - Develop mechanisms to close gaps in capacity and readiness and manage the closure of those gaps; partner with required teams to ensure that expectations are understood and partnerships strong. - Develop and maintain strong mechanisms to track the current and future states of the various Driver Training programs. - Coordinate with other members of the Driver Training Team to ensure that the Driver Training staffing enables the effective delivery of Driver Training and that Driver Trainers are well-positioned to execute to the standard, with sufficient resources and resource readiness. - Set the direction of the program in the near and long-term with the rest of the Driver Training Team. - Help set the direction for training delivery, ensuring that it is executed to plan through ensuring that capacity and readiness are in optimal states. - Up to 25% travel required.
