Sr. Product Safety Manager

Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Product Safety Manager to serve as a subject matter expert for one of our decorative lighting clients. This individual will lead an end-to-end product safety program, define risk tolerance, and ensure compliance with global safety standards. Youll work cross-functionally to embed safety into product development, proactively manage risk, and support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
- Drive the product safety program across our licensed assortment
- Define safety risk tolerance through clear frameworks balancing innovation, user experience, and compliance
- Anticipate regulatory trends and emerging risks to evolve the safety program
- Promote a culture of safety across the organization
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with UL, CE, IEC, and other international standards
- Conduct safety risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis) and implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee product testing protocols, including validation and misuse scenarios
Incident Response & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Establish feedback loops using data, incidents, and benchmarks to improve safety
Regulatory & Documentation
- Maintain safety documentation, certifications, and compliance reports
- Guide development of compliant safety labels, manuals, and warnings
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide technical safety guidance to product, compliance, and sourcing teams
- Partner with R&D, engineering, and legal to integrate safety into design
- Lead safety training for factory staff, QA auditors, and internal teams

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 11+ years of experience in product safety management with a focus on electrical/consumer products
- Proven track record of leading safety or risk management programs
Technical skills:
- Expertise in electrical safety standards and testing methodologies
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools (FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis)
- Familiarity with other compliance areas, such as EMC, Wireless and Environmental compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skillsable to balance risk, innovation, and consumer experience
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams and external partners
- Willingness to travel internationally (occasional travel to Asia) to inspect factories, oversee testing, and build relationships with global partners - Experience working in consumer electronics
- Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical analysis for safety data
- Hands-on experience with lab testing equipment and product certification processes null
