The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.
The Sustainability Measurement & Abatement Technology team builds technical solutions to track, record, and forecast Amazon's WW impact on the Environment (e.g., Carbon, Water, Waste, etc.). This includes calculating past and current impacts and future abatement plans, ensuring credibility through standards and validations, and highlighting non-obvious opportunities for Amazon’s global business teams.
We are looking for for an experienced product leader to help us build software products at the intersection of science and engineering to help the company make data-driven decisions about sustainability impact areas, such as Carbon, Water, and Waste. You will help define the problem(s) our customers are trying to solve, desired customer experience, vision, and product and technical strategy with limited guidance. You will own the roadmap and feature prioritization in your area to enable science and engineering teams build the right solutions to our customers in the right priority order. You will define the success criteria for your products, and will track them over time to continuously improve the products.
Key job responsibilities
- Comfortably sort through urgency and opportunity to continuously deliver for customers while maintaining progress towards long term targets
- Collaborate with groups of experts and cross-functional colleagues in an agile environment
- Discover, define, and apply scientific, engineering, and business best practices to customer problems
- Work on a variety of challenging problems that have to potential to significantly impact sustainability objectives
- Work with cross-functional leaders (e.g. sustainability experts, scientists, economists, engineers, etc.) to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable, distributed services
