The Terraform Provider Ecosystem is the backbone of Infrastructure as Code, enabling users to manage resources across hundreds of services. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Product Manager to own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our foundational AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Providers. This is a unique opportunity to shape the core user experience for the vast majority of Terraform users. You will be at the center of the action, working directly with the world’s leading cloud platforms, our Partner team, and dedicated engineering teams to define the future of cloud infrastructure management.
Responsibilities Ecosystem Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and communicate a unified product strategy and cohesive roadmap for the AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud providers, ensuring alignment with the broader HashiCorp Terraform vision. Roadmap Prioritization & Delivery: Lead the planning and prioritization process for three engineering teams. You will manage a complex backlog of feature requests from partners, community contributions, bug fixes, support escalations, and internal strategic initiatives to deliver maximum impact to our users. Partner Relationship Management: Serve as the primary product contact for our strategic cloud partners (AWS, Azure, Google). You will partner closely with our Partner Alliances team to manage relationships, align on joint roadmaps, and ensure timely support for new and updated cloud services. Cross-Provider Cohesion & Collaboration: Identify and solve for inefficiencies across the provider teams. You will champion initiatives to increase automation, create shared tooling, and standardize practices to improve development velocity and product consistency. Terraform Core Partnership: Forge a deep partnership with the Terraform Core product and engineering teams. You will be the voice of the providers, ensuring that new language features and platform capabilities are seamlessly adopted and provide a world-class user experience. Customer and Community Advocacy: Engage directly with our vibrant open-source community and enterprise customers to gather feedback, understand critical pain points, and champion their needs throughout the product development lifecycle.Skills and Experience 5+ years of product management experience, ideally with developer tools, Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), or platform products. Deep domain expertise in at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and a strong technical understanding of the others. Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools; direct experience with Terraform is highly preferred. Proven ability to manage complex external partner relationships and navigate competing priorities from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and prioritization skills, with experience making difficult trade-off decisions to drive the product forward. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between highly technical engineering teams and business-focused partners. Experience working with and nurturing open-source software communities is a strong plus.
