Sr. Product Lifecycle Engineer (Motors)

 

Job Description: 

Oversee & collaborate with PLE Engineers from different product to execute specific type of projects (NPI, DMOD & Transfer/Localization/Warranty, VI, and REA) initiatives, ensuring alignment with global teams and plant metrics. Support to track and report progress, guaranteeing on-time deliverables and fostering a culture of excellence, dedicated to preparing and tracking productivity and warranty events, while meticulously overseeing CN and REA implementation to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

Provide on-site development engineering support. 

Lead technical investigations and determine the need for design changes. 

Recommend and qualify solutions to issues and provide engineering documentation as needed. 

Approval authority for all proposed material substitutions thru deviations system. 

Generate and lead specific projects in support of warranty, reliability, total cost and quality improvement objectives. 

Participate in the disposition of deviant materials and components.  Disposition First Piece Inspection discrepancies for mature products. 

Drive other teams use of and adherence to engineering validation approval (REA) process.  

Oversee & collaborate with PLE from different platform for specific type of project is required. 

As needed lead a group of Engineers either for specific project objectives or in general to accomplish portfolio objectives based on portfolio grouping. As leader of a group this Role is responsible for meeting group metrics. 

Review & Approve CN’s, BoM Update. 

Develop & Improve engineering platforms as needed. 

Review ABR and ongoing life tests results.  

Sr. PMO Eng as different subcategories to sport product life: Tier (production support), Warranty, Productivity, NPI, NPD 

 

Responsibilities: 

Set up a recurrent meeting to review VI & Warranty projects. 

Be a consultant for quality & manufacturing team over mature product questions. 

Assign PLE to any no conformance spec on all portfolios. 

Review part numbers that have been set up in SAP, make sure they comply with qty, vendor and cost associated. 

Engineering changes review through Windchill. 

Support global SBD facilities with analysis regarding failure modes, design changes, others.  

Drive new training & support for the PLE team.  

Sustain, & improve and develop local process platforms based on current needs. 

Keep correct compliance data UL/CSA. 

Lead improvement Quality of responsible portfolio by reduction of FTP (First time Pass) and FSA (Finished Stock Audit) metrics. 

REAs & productivity projects implementation. 

Lead Deliver project implementations (D-Mods, Transfers, Class 6). 

Maintain the engineering cage & teardown lab clean (5's). 

Meet all mandatory training. 

Keep safety rules at plant and engineering areas. 

Job Requirements: 

Education required: 

Bachelor’s or equivalent in Engineering discipline 

Bilingual in Spanish and English required, advance conversation and understanding (like 90%). 

Master’s degree completed preferred 

 

Work experience required: 

3-5 years’ experience in design of high-volume electromechanical systems. 

4-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.  

Well-rounded in advanced engineering concepts, problem solving skills and data analysis.  

A self-starting results-oriented individual who works well in a team environment and commits to tough decisions when required.  

Must be well organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be adept at information gathering and technical decision making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to generate and present professional presentations.  

Experience leading +3 people team preferred 

Ability to lead & develop engineering groups 

Proven lead implementation projects 

Resourceful results-driven individual who consistently delivers results  

Ability to work on and coordinate multiple global projects    

Ability to see change as a positive and translate it into opportunities 

 

Skills required: 

Advance CAD, PLM &SAP (programs prefer CATIA V5, Windchill and SAP, or similar).  

Advance knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.  

Proficiency using Microsoft office, including MS Project and Excel. 

Advance skills for Microsoft Power Platform.  

Advance data analysis skills (Minitab. Black Belt preferred). 

Advance understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, metal stamping, machining, electronics design.
