Job Description
The Sr. Process Engineer drives technological and process improvement activities, focusing on creating and implementing new products and processes to enhance productivity, reduce customer complaints, and lower costs. This role involves coordinating the implementation of new capital manufacturing equipment and processes to optimize production and increase capacity. A significant portion of the work will be conducted in a Class 7 clean room, with responsibilities including validation and process setup. Experience with extrusion and medical tubing is highly desirable.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of flexible packaging products.Drive global projects, including identifying and sourcing capital needs to achieve best-in-class technology and processing.Perform cost and quality improvement projects to support manufacturing goals that positively impact and reduce the cost of goods sold (COGS).Define and manage project activities for the commercial release of new products and corresponding manufacturing processes, ensuring sustainable, efficient, repeatable, and reproducible operations.Collaborate with site operations leadership to identify and resolve technical challenges and support commercial solutions.Act as a conduit to the commercial team, determining product requirements for new opportunities, including quote support regarding cost structures and milestone timelines.Manage major validation efforts by scoping master validation plans and executing complex validation requirements with documented protocols, test methods, and reports.Translate customer needs into quantifiable Critical to Quality (CTQ) attributes to scope projects, report progress, and create actionable plans to meet customer requirements.Apply risk management best practices by identifying hazards, evaluating associated risks, controlling these risks, and monitoring the effectiveness of risk controls.Collaborate and communicate effectively in a cross-functional organization, using strong presentation skills to present technical information to diverse audiences and connect technical concepts to business outcomes.Essential SkillsProficiency in tubing, process engineering, plastics extrusion, extrusion process, PVC tubing extrusion, medical equipment, and medical tubing.Subject Matter Expert in extrusion processes.Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.Minimum years of industry experience in polymer extrusion and converting.Familiarity with Polyolefin materials and the ability to recommend different material families based on application and end product use.Understanding of the flexographic printing process, including inks, plate materials, diluents, drying, and overall printing process.Ability to apply tools within Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis.Track record of being resourceful and innovative in driving projects to completion.Effective communication of project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.Demonstrated ability to problem solve, identify errors and deficiencies, and perform research.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in medical device manufacturing.Experience working in a Class 7 clean room environment.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr.
