The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for designing and laying out fluid process systems, ranging from a single piece of equipment to a complete plant. You will be involved in projects from concept through process design, equipment sizing and specification, installation, start-up, and commissioning. Effective communication with team members, contractors, consultants, vendors, and clients is crucial for coordinating all aspects of the project.
ResponsibilitiesDesign fluid process systems and layouts for batching, processing, packaging, CIP/COP, pasteurization, filtration, and heat exchangers.Understand and design steam, condensate, glycol, tower water, and city water systems.Identify proper pumps and valving components for each application.Develop mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), utility/equipment matrices, timelines, SOPs, and performance specifications for process equipment.Create and develop Requests for Quotation (RFQ).Identify and implement process improvements and action plans.Interact with equipment vendors and manage equipment procurement.Supervise field personnel at customer sites and travel to maintain client contact and respond to needs.Work within established engineering policies and procedures to ensure effective customer treatment.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 8-10 years of related experience.8+ years of experience in fluid processing, especially in yogurt, cottage cheese, and dairy processing.Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D modeling and experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.Knowledge of USD or FDA regulations and Dairy 3A, USDA & FDA Guidelines.Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage plant efficiency and layout issues.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Valid US Driver’s License.Additional Skills & QualificationsSupervisory experience is preferred.Experience in yogurt manufacturing, project coordination, and manufacturing engineering.Proficient teamwork skills: listening, approachable, questioning, helpful, and participating.Strong interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, positive, outgoing, and enthusiastic.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $76.92/hr.
