Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC provides a layered missile defense capability that offers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential part of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
This position is for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer on the C2BMC Global GBM team. The candidate will primarily be responsible for software development using Java. The ideal candidate should be able to: work with support teams to resolve issues, establish standards, and improve overall system efficiency. Design, code, test, and deploy automation tools.

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience with a PhD. Or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.Applicants must hold a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start, with eligibility for SCI clearanceAbility and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.Proficiency in Java with the ability to design, develop, and test Java applicationsExperience developing in a Unix/Linux environmentStrong understanding of software development principles, including:OOPDesign patternsTesting/Debugging techniquesKnowledge of software practices and coding standardsPreferred Qualifications:

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
