Seeking a Retail Solutions\Point Of Sale (POS) engineer with experience in Linux OS and Oracle XStore POS platforms.
This role would oversee a fleet of 1,600 Linux POS systems across 260 remote sites. Responsible for Linux configuration changes, health monitoring, patching, and centralized OS management platforms.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with Linux OS administration and 3+ years of experience with Oracle XStore, XOffice, and Customer Engagement, platforms.
Hardware configuration and JPOS driver experience with Toshiba, Datalogic, and Verifone POS peripherals is a plus.
Will work closely with internal Solution Delivery and Infrastructure teams along with multiple outside development and support partners.
You will be part of a team that collaborates with internal business customers to understand their requirements and then help translate them into technical solutions.
The role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Retail Systems which is part of the Solution Delivery team.
Key Qualifications:
At least 3-5+ years of relevant Information Technology experience in remote Retail systems management, preferably POS.At least 3-5+ years of Linux administration, preferable Oracle\RHEL Linux.3+ years of experience in Oracle XStore POS platforms.Experience on installing, configuring, and maintaining POS systems hardware and drivers (printer, cashdrawer, pin pad, touchscreen, scanner, etc.).Experience with various platforms to monitor, manage, and patch remote systems .Skills with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.Ability to analyze system and performance logs to help optimize performance and to proactively identify any upcoming issues.Maintain security measures including access control and patch management.Remotely upgrade applications and OS as needed.Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, procedures, and policies in our internal knowledge base.Train internal support staff on system usage and new technologies when necessary.Experience with project coordination of onshore and offshore resourcesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Participate in functional testing and co-ordinate with cross functional stakeholders for timely deliveries.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent year-for-year experience required
