Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant specializing in tax to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is located in Lake Forest, Illinois, and offers an opportunity to work with a large, diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll operations, tax compliance, and multi-state payroll management. Responsibilities: • Oversee the full payroll cycle for a workforce of 20,000-25,000 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing. • Manage multi-state payroll operations, including compliance with state and federal tax regulations. • Utilize ADP Workforce Now to execute payroll tasks and maintain accurate employee records. • Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. • Ensure compliance with all payroll tax requirements, including withholding and reporting. • Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including those in California and other states. • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to improve payroll processes and ensure alignment with company policies. • Handle payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring adherence to relevant agreements. • Conduct regular audits to verify payroll accuracy and compliance. • Stay updated on legislative changes affecting payroll and tax practices. Requirements • Extensive experience in full-cycle payroll management, including tax compliance. • Proven expertise in handling payroll for multi-state employees, including California. • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems. • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements. • Ability to manage payroll for large employee populations, including exempt and non-exempt staff. • Familiarity with union payroll processing and compliance. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Attention to detail and ability to perform payroll audits effectively.
