As a Sr Packaging Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the consistent performance of our packaging solutions. You will be at the forefront of driving initiatives that significantly impact our global operations and enabling our customers to deliver on their mission.

A day in the Life:Coordinate and lead certification and recertification testing via ISTA and IATA using both in-house capabilities and third party facilities.Build a growth strategy to further strengthen the core competency in packaging design, development and testing.Lead packaging-related failure investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.Manage bottle and closure design, supplier selection, and develop control processes.Engage with customer change notifications and complete engineering change orders successfully.Mentor and grow junior packaging engineers, encouraging their development and expertise.Keys to Success:Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver outstanding results.Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Self-motivated, proactive, and hard-workingEducationBachelor of Science in Packaging Science or equivalent experience (or an Engineering background with packaging experience)ExperienceProven packaging experience with UN Packaging/Hazmat requirementsKnowledge of packaging test methods and equipmentFamiliarity with statistics and/or reliability engineeringExperience at a chemical site a plusKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of packaging materials, design, and engineering principles.Outstanding problem-solving skills with a strict attention to detail.Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse partnersPhysical Requirements / Work Environment

Work primarily in an office and medical manufacturing setting with occasional visits to supplier sites.
