Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mold Designer to utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to surface and design automotive and industrial injection molds. You will be responsible for considering factors such as customer part design, material selection, and manufacturing processes. This role involves leveraging your experience in product development and design to determine the best design approach for prototyping programs, including additive manufacturing, soft tooling, and hard tooling.

- 5+ years of experience mold design experience for the automotive industry
- 1+ years of experience with VISI, OR CATIA, OR NX
- Plastic Injection moulding
- Excel & PowerPoint
ResponsibilitiesApply finite element techniques to assess engineering and production feasibility analysis.Optimize design costs and improve value delivered to our customers through cross-functional collaboration and value engineering principles.Order parts and components related to specific jobs using internal purchasing software and tools.Create comprehensive documentation and work instructions for customer and manufacturing review.Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless integration of design changes into existing tools.Collaborate with key stakeholders to support continuous improvement efforts and ensure engineering changes are implemented correctly and align with the design intent.Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in continuous improvement methodologies and engineering processes.Coach and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with prototyping applications including 3D Printing (SLA, FDM, MJF), Cast Urethane Tooling, and Ren Board Tooling.Familiarity with fixture design and tooling design.Proficiency in SolidWorks.Work Environment
Join a dynamic team of around 8 professionals at the Regal facility, where you will report into a collaborative environment. The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime after 40 hours. Our team is at the forefront of rapid prototyping, providing support across multiple industries, including automotive and life sciences. You'll have access to cutting-edge machinery and products before they reach the market, such as prototypes for the Cybertruck. This role offers a wealth of learning opportunities and an influx of work as the company continues to expand.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.
