Job Description An Insight Global customer in Tucson, AZ is looking to hire a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time, permanent, role. This person will be on a team responsible for developing new diode laser systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the semiconductor industry specifically working on mechanical components, assembly and testing for similar laser or optical tools. This role will require you to spend about 50% of your time in a cleanroom/lab type environment. We can offer a salary of $110k to $120k for this role but exact compensation may vary based on education and years of experience. Skills and Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.  - 6+ years of experience working in a mechanical engineering capacity in the semiconductor, battery, solar or related industries. Specifically tool assembly involving heatsinks, opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, and laser assemblies, testing and tool design.  - Experience tooling and assembling components sized mm to micron level  - CAD experience: specifically 3D and 2D design with SolidWorks and adhering to ANSI Y14.5M standards and GD&T  - Experience with ANSYS, thermal simulation tools to conduct design validation and reliability tests.
