Location/Division Specific Information:

The Asheville Manufacturing site is in the Laboratory Products Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and enhance quality of life. Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

You will provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s)

A Day in the Life:

Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.

Sustain quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.

Receive materials and/or finished goods daily.

Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).

Unpack, label, and put inventory items into stockroom locations.

Package items for shipment and internal manufacturing lines.

Perform weekly cycle counts and other inventory control initiatives.

Assures compliance with customs, export, applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as applicable federal transport regulations.

Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to operators or supervisors.

Identify items that have expiration dates and rotate accordingly.

Perform count on designated parts to be moved and adjusts errors when needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field.Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required.Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Desire to work in a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly.Ability to read and write in English.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs frequently
