The Opportunity

The Senior Marketing Planning and Programs Manager plays a vital role in supporting Black & Veatch marketing planning cycles and their links to project execution including key program and Tier One project planning. The role is a critical component of the new Black & Veatch Operating Model to support the commercial growth of the business and the elevation of the Black & Veatch brand. The role is instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, helps provide program management for the marketing leadership team, develop annual and quarterly business marketing planning cycle, and deploys a thoughtful communication and consultation strategy for the marketing team and outbound to the businesses and regions. 

 

As a strategic thought partner, you will provide structure, timelines, inputs and outputs for marketing planning based on industry best practices and partnership with BV marketing leaders. You will collaborate with other Enterprise Evolution teams such as corporate strategy and marketing insights as feeders into the marketing planning process. You will develop and implement a team operating rhythm, coordinate cross-functional teams, and facilitate strategic planning sessions to ensure seamless execution of high-visibility initiatives. This role provides central support to the marketing leadership team and collaborates with each leader on annual plans, strategies and programs. You will ensure that our overall planning interlocks with campaign planning, marketing communications team planning and creative services development cycles.

As the Marketing Planning & Programs Manager, you will have the opportunity to: 

 

Build and facilitate the annual marketing planning cycle, the quarterly marketing planning cycle and design reporting against plan on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.  Provide consultation and views of market segment and role-based audience views of initiatives and projects  Collaborate with the head of marketing communications and heads of marketing to evaluate and document multidisciplinary and multichannel marketing campaigns aligned with business objectives  Provide internal planning for marketing meetings and town halls, marketing leadership operations, CMO and marketing leadership communications, and drives instructions and communications regarding marketing planning.  Provide planning and operations support for Tier One marketing projects (supporting initiatives) throughout the year in terms of overall planning with business marketing leaders and functional marketing leaders as well as agencies that contribute to successful outcomes  The Team

Key Responsibilities Using industry best practices, design and lead the annual marketing planning cycles, quarterly reviews, stakeholder engagements and gateways, and full documentation and communication regarding planning   Collaborate with leadership team to nominate, discuss and finalize annual imperatives and initiatives, and facilitate quarterly project identification to support each initiative  Collaborate with marketing operations and marketing leaders to identify core teams (including a marketing executive lead) and resources for Tier One projects (programs, campaigns) mapping to each initiative as well as KPIs for each  Establish operating cadence for Tier One projects including supporting the marketing executive lead to facilitate sessions with all stakeholders, decision-making, elevate risks and facilitate change management between teams  Partner with CMO on key strategic planning and marketing operations programs, community and skill-building  Serve as the chair for the Marketing Leadership Team, including working across the team to understand risks and enablers to leadership success, develop agendas and action items for leadership sessions, and facilitate brainstorming and organization sessions for the team  Build and maintain effective relationships. Proactively foster communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Influence key decisions across stakeholder groups.  Creates and develops senior marketing communications include CMO communications and presentations  Provide insight on best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences.  Serve as a trusted advisor to ensure projects are aligned with the overall company strategy and market conditions  Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned  Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in marketing operations and account management in support of large program and projects  Understanding of strategic marketing planning models and willingness to study and test models for various types of functional goals and outcomes  Demonstrable portfolio in managing integrated marketing campaigns across online and offline channels  Excellent knowledge of multichannel and digital marketing tools and techniques, including paid and earned media, demand-based campaigns, email and content marketing, marketing events, and martech and salestech systems  Strong understanding of marketing principles, campaign development and digital marketing channels  Efficient project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines  Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.  Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.  Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and CRM systems for campaign execution and lead management.  Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques, including SEO, PPC, SMM and other strategies.  Familiarity or willingness to learn data privacy and marketing compliance regulations in markets that BV serves.  Former marketing agency experience preferred  Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, analytics or related field  Strong decision making and judgment  Excellent stakeholder management skills  Ability to work independently and as part of a team  Mature problem-solving and analytical skills  8 years progressive experience  Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or equivalent experience 6+ years progressive experience, including 2+ years supervisory All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
