Sr. Manager - Product Solutions
Nexstar’s Digital Product team is looking for a creative, results-focused Sr. Product Manager for our Audience Engagement platforms to help grow and deepen engagement across our digital properties, including our O&O local stations, The Hill, and NewsNation. This person will be hands-on with tools like OneSignal, Sailthru, and other audience platforms to drive return visits, grow subscriber bases, and support editorial and revenue goals. As a member of the Product Solutions group, you’ll manage the buildout, integration, and support of various Audience Engagement platforms and technologies as they connect to our larger digital ecosystem of Websites, mobile apps, and other internal and external systems and user/stakeholder groups. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, revenue, development, marketing, and editorial teams to create and enhance smart, personalized touchpoints that deliver value to our audiences—wherever they are. This remote position requires experience with various digital audience platforms, vendors, and technologies in a journalistic news environment, including email newsletters; contesting, surveys, quizzes, polls, and sweepstakes; login and registration; and First- and Zero- party data collection and management. An ability to navigate both strategic and day-to-day product priorities is essential to this role, as is a relentless focus on users and success metrics. Clear, actionable communication to and with a variety of multidisciplinary stakeholder groups is also key. Given Product’s centrality to the digital product lifecycle, you will be a highly organized, but flexible, problem-solver and solution-seeker. Responsibilities + Manage and optimize push notification strategies across mobile/web using OneSignal + Own email newsletter operations across brands using Sailthru—including production, segmentation, A/B testing, automation, and performance analysis + Partner with editorial to deliver timely, high-value content to users across platforms + Collaborate with product and engineering to implement tracking, tagging, and behavioral triggers that enhance audience journeys + Find smart but safe ways to leverage AI to drive audience engagement + Launch and manage audience engagement campaigns using platforms like Second Street (e.g., contests, quizzes, polls). + Analyze performance metrics (CTR, open rate, conversion, retention) and translate them into actionable insights and recommendations. + Be a subject matter expert on audience tools, help train station teams on best practices, and answer questions relating to audience tools + Stay current on industry trends in audience development + Manage Audience tool integrations with our core WordPress/mobile app platforms, integration of our upcoming login/registration toolset + Use a variety of reporting and project management tools to communicate and document across portfolios including Jira, Confluence, etc. + Participate in end-to-end digital feature rollouts and maintenance including: + Requirements gathering & Feature Definition (User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, etc.) + Conducting UAT (user acceptance testing) + Creatin detailed product artifacts such as PRDs and training documentation. + Intake, triage, and follow-through on stakeholder bug/feature reports via systems like FreshService + Coordinate with Nexstar’s Legal and Privacy teams to ensure legal compliance with applicable laws and regulations for audience platforms and features Qualifications + 5+ years in digital audience engagement, email marketing, or digital publishing + Hands-on experience with OneSignal, Sailthru, or similar engagement and CRM platforms + Strong analytical mindset; comfort with data dashboards, performance metrics, and A/B testing + Ability to smartly leverage the AI tools of our partners and vendors + Capability to research and implement new AI-driven strategies to drive engagement, retention, and workflow + Editorial sensibility and understanding of how to serve news and content audiences effectively. + B2C and B2C experience helping drive not only engagement but revenue + Experience working with CMS platforms and basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus. + Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions and brands. + Knowledge of media and news environments + Ability to own end-to-end Product development, from ideation to deployment + Proven track record of navigating applicable laws and regulations concerning privacy and identity on audience platforms and their integrations + Experience with tools like Second Street, Jeeng, or similar platforms. + Familiarity with media KPIs like MAUs, loyalty metrics, and subscription funnels. + Background in working with both national and local news teams. + Expert at communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders and collaborating and managing projects within a large geographically diverse company. + Knowledge of Agile Software Development Product Management methodologies, tools, and practices (gathering and writing requirements, prioritization, user acceptance testing, etc.) Compensation: This is a salaried position.
