Since 2017, IRC has supported Rohingya Refugees and Bangladeshi nationalities communities in Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong with integrated services. The organization also addresses climate change impacts by building resilience and promoting economic recovery, education, and protection.
Purpose of the Role
The position will work under the direct supervision of the Grants Coordinator with an indirect reporting line to Sr. Coordinator, Grants & Partnership. This position will undertake both pre and post award management including business development initiatives for the country program by closely working with the Technical Coordinator(s) and other relevant departments.
Highlights of Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Pre-award Management:
+ Research, monitor and identify funding opportunities and develop summaries of opportunities for internal Go-No Go decision making and lead the Go-No Go meetings.
+ Research donor strategies and priorities including multilateral and bilateral donors and Trusts and Foundations.
+ Prepare donor briefing notes/analysis for Country Director/DDP/Sr Coordinator Grants & Partnership, TCs as requested.
+ Manage the Business Development Tool by following up the actions, regular updates and coordinating quarterly meetings.
+ Build relationships with UN, INGOs, networks, platforms and other relevant partners for potential future collaborations.
+ Take part in collaborator analysis as part of concept notes and business development initiatives.
+ Support the Sr. Coordinator Grants & Partnership and Grants Coordinator coordinating concept note and proposal development jointly with the program, operations, finance and other teams as relevant.
+ Develop clear proposal development timeline, provide early notification to relevant Regional and HQ colleagues about the timeline; regular follow up with the relevant teams to ensure results.
+ Maintain an efficient system for proposal development including clear responsibilities outlined for management, programs, finance and operations departments - that yields timely, high quality submissions.
+ Support the Sr. Coordinator Grants & Partnership/Grants Coordinator/DDP organizing and leading program design workshops for all new business development opportunities.
+ Jointly with the Sr. Coordinator Grants & Partnership and Grants Coordinator, lead on the drafting new proposals and concept notes which are consistent, high-quality,driven and aligned with donor’s requirements and regulations.
+ Coordinate with M&E Coordinator and Technical Coordinators in ensuring that project design adheres to IRC’s internal M&E and Technical standards and has consistency in terms of technical design.
+ Coordinate with Finance team to ensure that, internal budget templates are developed and shared with the team on time; ensure that the budget is reviewed by relevant country functions before ensuring in-country and HQ sign-off.
Post-Award Management:
+ With support from the Grants Coordinator, support the regular monitoring of grants, using appropriate grant management tools and prioritizing organizing and coordinating follow- up action of Project Opening Meetings (POMs); monthly Project Implementation Meetings (PIMs); budget review/Budget vs Actual (BVA) review meetings and Project Closing Meetings (PCMs) in collaboration with the Grants Coordinator.
+ Ensure that grants and award contracts are well administered, and program/operations teams are fully informed of relevant donor compliance regulations and IRC procedures including any new donor communications, changes in regulations and meetings or events.
+ Provide technical mentorship on IRC and donor regulations to MEAL, program and operations staff to ensure compliance within operations, implementation and reporting.
+ Liaise with IRC HQ about specific compliance issues and clearly communicate these issues through to relevant colleagues in the field
+ Ensure timely and quality donor report submissions
Qualifications
Experience
+ At least 6 years of total work experience with minimum three (3) years of experience, especially in Business Development/ Grants Coordination; humanitarian; and/or in the development sector.
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Demonstrable understanding of project planning and project cycle management
+ Excellent writing and editing skills
+ Proficiency in MS Office Package
+ Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and ensure results on time
Language Preference
+ High level of proficiency in English
Specific Educational Qualification
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree is preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Social Science
