This position works out of our Abbott Park IL facility.
As the Sr. Manager, Legal Contracting & Intake you will oversee the contracting and workflow systems supporting Abbott’s Legal Department. You will lead the planning, execution, and change management related to multiple high-priority initiatives. Success in this role requires a comprehensive understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), workflow tools, Intellectual Property (IP), and GenAI technologies and strong project management skills. You will collaborate closely with Abbott IT, Legal leadership, and internal Legal teams to ensure proper prioritization and timely completion of projects. You will be responsible for developing new solutions and enhancing existing ones to address critical operational challenges. Additionally, you will manage a team comprising both managers and individual contributors. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role on Abbott’s Legal Operations team.
What You will Work On
Stay updated on best practices, processes, and tool options in the CLM, workflow and GenAI space through benchmarking and continuous research.Accountable for successful evaluation and implementation of technologies and processes to enhance effectiveness of legal teams.Support the Director of Legal Operations in the execution of our strategic technology planAssess and monitor organizational needs and skillsets related to emerging technologies and focus areas (such as GenAI, contracting efficiencies, workflow, and process automation); develop strategies to effectively and sustainably support these areas.Direct and align projects with overall organizational strategy.Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams and BTS to streamline operations through the continuous assessment of processes, tools, and staff capabilitiesDevelop and lead implementation of strategic legal technology initiatives supporting workflow, contracting, and GenAI use cases.Decision making on project timelines, day-to-day system support and maintenance processes, system upgrade timing and implementation timelineResponsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and proceduresCollaborate internally and externally to analyze and improve processes and develop innovative solutions; develop communication strategy regarding legal contracting & workflow processes and initiatives. Make recommendations to process stakeholders regarding suggested approaches to achieve process improvement objectives.Leverage existing technology, identify new technologies, and implement tools to increase business intelligence and efficiency.Participate in legal industry organizations to build and foster relationships throughout the industry to support a robust benchmarking program, benchmark approaches and identify best practices and new strategies and models for the delivery of legal technology.Oversee management, support and administration of legal systems, including Conga (Contract Hub), Onit and IP technology support.Supervise direct report(s).Required Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeA minimum of 8 years in Legal Operations or Procurement disciplines (with Law Department operations or law firm experience).Broad legal and contracting knowledge and experience in healthcare industry or related experience with exposure to business functions such as procurement, legal or ITExcellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving).Excellent communication skills (written and oral)Excellent project management skillsExcellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to communicate and interact with colleagues across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership Strong influencing and negotiating skills.Outstanding flexibility, adaptability, and sense of accountabilityStrong attention to detail, good judgement, and strong time management skillsPreferred Qualifications
Organizational Change Management experience.Experience in Project Management is preferred. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across a large or mid-size global, matrixed organization.Location

The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
